The heart of The Westervelt Company is a land base of nearly 500,000 acres. Its business divisions are structured around this land platform. It is a natural resource we appreciate, nurture, and grow.
As stewards of the land with a sustainability mission, Westervelt Natural Resources manages and utilizes this land implementing a variety of environmental best practices.
We began refining our timber-management practices to include streamside-management zones to avoid runoff when harvesting trees, intensive planting, continual forest management and wildlife enhancement with on-staff biologists.
Today, The Westervelt Company plants millions of trees each year, harvests only in small compartments, and is the only major landowner to be recognized by the Alabama Forestry Commission for pioneering forest management techniques, wildlife enrichment efforts and conservation practices.
We have an ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and resource conservation, as set forth in our environmental policy.
